What Is Social Justice?

Social Justice, based on the concepts of human rights and equality for all, binds human life, indeed all creation, in a common good. It actively addresses societal barriers and inequities which diminish and exclude others from the common well being. Social Justice seeks to remedy patterns that have become distorted and corrupted, and to embrace the mission that all persons, regardless of ethnic origin, gender, orientation, race and religion are to be treated equally and without prejudice.

The ethical mandate of nearly all world religions, “To Love God and Neighbor,” begins with charitable acts of kindness to the suffering and generosity to the poor. Social Justice, not only manifests itself in these works of Charity, but promotes Tolerance, Freedom and Equality for ALL PEOPLE.
