Lone Star Justice Alliance   
2018

The mission of Lone Star Justice Alliance (LSJA) is to reduce the incarceration of and improve outcomes for children and emerging adults (17-24) in the Texas Justice System and into community-based treatment programs, thus increasing public safety and saving tax-payer dollars.   

                
The Gabriel House, Inc dba The Bella House
2018

The Gabriel House organization operates as "The Bella House" homes, serving homeless pregnant women and their babies. They offer love and support for homeless pregnant women in the Dallas and Plano area who are in need by providing for both their emotional and physical needs.

 

Youth With Faces
2018

The Youth With Faces mission is to give young men and women in Dallas County's juvenile justice system a second chance at being more than a statistic.  By learning and practicing the skills to live positively in society, they can break the cycle of incarceration and create more promising futures--for themselves and our entire community.

 
Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Scholarship Program
2017

The Erin Tierney Kramp program awards scholarships to students based on their courage and perseverance in the face of adversity.  Students must exemplify courage and perseverance in the face of hardship or adversity, must show moral character with leadership and scholarship qualities as evidenced by high academic standards; and must submit a high school diploma.

 
Magdaleno Leadership Institute
2017

Their mission of the Magdaleno Leadership Institute is  to provide equity and social justice through the educational advancement, leadership development and empowerment of low-income Hispanic students.  The organization supports a growing segment of Hispanic students who show academic promise but are considered at risk of academic failure due to factors such as low socio-economic status, neighborhoods without resources, parents’ low level of education, students lack of knowledge about academic paths, and their poor schooling experience.

St. Vincent de Paul
2017

The grant will enable St Vincent de Paul to fund a Mini Loan Program to assist individuals convert payday and auto title loans to a low interest loan with a term of 12 months.  This program will also provide financial coaching and education.

 

Bryan’s House
2017

Bryans’ House original mission was to provide hospice care for infants and children with HIV/AIDS.  Now Bryan’s House has expanded to provide children with chronic medical, educational or therapeutic needs.  Children’s families are provided these services at no cost.

Cafe Momentum
2016

Cafe Momentum is a Dallas restaurant and culinary training facility, that trains, supports and mentors juveniles being released from detention facilities.  A structured, positive environment provides life skills, financial literacy and other educational services to the young men and women so that they can live independently and become productive citizens and leaders.

Social Venture Partners-Dallas

BigBang! is an annual conference with local and national leaders and participants sharing solutions for social innovation in their communities.  These efforts examine how philanthropy can be directed at funding and finding practices to deal with underlying structural problems in education, equity and social justice.

Isabel's Community Outreach

Isabel's Community Outreach (ICO) offers free education to the residents of Plano and surrounding communities.  Our programs are designed to help men, women and children build self-esteem and a life of self-sufficiency.  ICO is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

The mission of Isabel’s Community Outreach is:

  • To teach basic and advanced living skills.

  • To assist in the development of income producing skills

  • To help establish awareness of a wider world, and to develop leadership skills.

  • To provide aid and emotional support to overcome immediate problems.

  • To assist individual families in achieving a life of self-sufficiency, self-assurance and dignity

  • To coordinate delivery of other community outreach efforts.

​Since 1994, DAI has been training leaders in the art and practice of citizenship so they can work effectively to bring about the change they envision for the betterment of their communities.

Dallas Area Interfaith develops leaders within its member institutions, and those leaders organize to bring about the change they seek to create a better world for all here in north Texas. They do so by focusing upon issues of greatest concern and interest to the members of their respective congregations, synagogues and other institutions.

Agape Resource & Assistance Center

Agape Mission: To serve urgent or unmet shelter and service needs of women, their children and dependents, and unaccompanied youth in poverty and crisis.

Focus: First – serve children and youth to break poverty cycle. Second – support families in crisis and facilitate permanent change for all.

Agape will provide access to safe, emergency and affordable housing to participants in collaborating agencies and those agencies will, in turn, be a source of transformational programs to Agape Village residents.
